One of Obama's biggest, loudest, obnoxious supporters of his socialist healthcare overhaul was Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-ouchebag-NY). Weiner (tee hee) now wants a WAIVER from said healthcare law for NYC. A Waiver!!!

Oh, if I didn't see it written, I wouldn't believe it. Wait, yes I would.

Gee, I'm Confused
I wish I knew what this guy is really feeling.....but I just can't tell by his truck......
I mean, I'm all for anti-Obama stickers, but this is ridiculous.
He forgot this one, though: my own personal favorite:

Can You Say "Publicity Stunt"?
This is such BS. This guy is a thug and can't sing. And he's on a publicity tour, folks.
Also, ABC is not pressing charges against this guy, Robin Roberts wishes him well (awwwww) and wants to invite him back on. What?

In My Very Humble Opinion.....
.......this man should have been the first African American president of the United States.
But, that's just my opinion. :-)

Seriously? I'm nauseous......
As the mother of a premie, this makes me sick to my stomach.
When we begin to think that God's decisions are our own to decide, then we are seriously going down a slippery slope, folks.
Holy Doggie Gingivitis
BUT, they have had the most horrible breath lately, especially Pappy (on the left). Serious stench does not make it fun for doggie kisses, folks.
So, off to the vet for some dental care they went. General anesthesia was given and all of the gunk was scraped off of their little teeth. Pappy ended up having a cracked tooth removed and has stitches now, poor little guy.
Doggie kisses are fun again!!
Brought To You Today By The Letters B and S
This guy is such a tool. Two minutes and 27 seconds of BS.
By the way, Rick and I love to listen to Click and Clack, we just don't think we are responsible for subsidizing their show.
Obama, Do You Hear This Man NOW????
Obama spent 20 years sitting in the pews of this man's 'church' and said that he never heard him say things such as this:
Does anyone really believe that Barack and Michelle Obama didn't know what this man was about?

Springtime in Chicago
Like most of you out there, this is the time of year I start to get very excited about my yard and gardens. I begin itching to get my hands in dirt. I start daydreaming of green sprouts and daffodils and buds on the flowering trees. I begin to think about what to move around in the beds, what to take out, what to replace, what's fun and new out on the market that sounds interesting....etc. You get the idea. :-)
This year there are two plants in particular that are tickling my fancy:
The re-blooming "Bloomerang" lilac bush
http://www.provenwinners.com/plants/detail.cfm?photoID=9339&page=1&searchKeywords=bloomerang&_=1300230314296
And the "Pretty Much Picasso" petunia.
http://www.provenwinners.com/plants/detail.cfm?photoID=9320&page=1&searchKeywords=pretty%20picasso&_=1300230187379
How pretty is that petunia? Fuscia and Lime Green together on one petal? Pure Joy! And who doesn't love a re-blooming lilac bush?
More to come on some new ideas for your garden.....stay tuned!
Hyprocrisy, Thy Name Is Hollywood
Oh, will the elitist Hollywood millionaires ever stop trying to convince us that they are just like us? No, but it's a nice dream.
Susan Sarandon, aka Hollywood millionaire and actress who thinks she's a deep thinker, called the governor of Wisconsin an 'idiot' yesterday. Yep.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PjSwjpwbT-o
There are so many things in this video that make me want to bang my head against a wall, I just don't know where to begin. First of all, what does the fact that she is a hollywood union member who has kept her kids clothed and fed by being a union member have anything to do with what is happening in Wisconsin? Nothing, that's what. She makes millions of dollars for acting. She is wealthy. But she says that "they have all the wealth", meaning the Republicans? WTF? Has she never heard of socialist/billionaire George Soros? Progessive Insurance's Peter Lewis? Marion and Herb Sandler? Has she never heard of the entire group of socialists who call themselves the Democratic Alliance???
Teachers (who are paid by tax dollars) in Wisconsin have it made. They are making great money with unbelievable benefits, which are funded by the taxpayer. They have jobs, for goodness sakes. What more do these people want? And don't these protestors have anything better to do? I'm sure most of them are paid anarchists (smelly basement-dwellers) who are known for showing up to whatever progressive protest is happening that day. This is so pitiful, it's almost funny.
Wake up, America. We are in some serious trouble if whacks like these take the reins.

Hello, My Name Is Brenda And I Watch "The Bachelor"
Ok, I feel better now, admitting to you all that I watch "The Bachelor". I've watched every season, including "The Bachelorette". I can't help myself. It's like watching the proverbial train wreck.....it's impossible not to watch this stuff. Maybe I should think about joining a 12-step program or something. Anyhoo.........
This season is a re-do for Brad Womack, who failed a few seasons back to pick the right girl at the end (shocker, I know). He went home fiancee-less and had to do some soul-searching and deep therapy to figure out why he couldn't commit. Of course, we found out this season that he has major 'father' issues and he says now that he is ready to find love and is in a better state of mind.
The finale is tonight and his two final choices could not be more different from one another. My choice for Brad is Emily, the sweet, southern, young mother of a 5 yr. old girl. Emily's fiance died in a plane crash in 2004. Five days after the crash, Emily found out that she was pregnant with their daughter, Ricki, named after the father, Ricky Hendrick. Ricky was the son of NASCAR's big powerhouse team owner, Rick Hendrick.
Emily is stunningly beautiful and sweet, and obviously connected to some wealth, so why she had to come on "The Bachelor" to find a man is beyond me. But she did and she's made it to the finale.
So, now you all know where I will be tonight--glued in front of the boob tube, anxiously awaiting the outcome! Go Emily!
The Youth Are Our Future, Folks.
I love the organization Live Action for a few reasons. First, they are fighting the evil of abortion in unique and brilliant ways, aka "new media". Also, they are young pro-life adults, who are the future of our country. These young people give me some hope.

I know 'hate' is a strong word but......
I hate this man---have for a long time, but especially today because, according to this, in his own words, my money is not mine. WTF?
Poor Will
Poor Will. He's been sick for about a week now and not showing many signs of improving much. High temp, sore throat, horrible cough, thick thick thick stuff in his head and chest. He's really feeling lousy, but of course has not completely lost his famous sense of humor:
Feel better, buddy
Update: Now Rick is sick, too. They are hunkering down in the basement (mancave) watching NCAA bracketology and drinking Sprite.
Waiting for the Doctor to come in:

ALERTS TO TERROR THREATS IN 2011 EUROPE
By John Cleese
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross."
The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out.
Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.
The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's Get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.
The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.
Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."
The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose."
Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.
The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.
Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be alright, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is canceled." So far, no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.

This actually scares me and I'm wondering how far these crazies will go to get what they want.
Put On A Happy Face
This is a friendly reminder that Spring is just around the corner.
Right?
Spring IS right around the corner, right? Mommy, please tell me that Spring is right around the corner..........................Mommy!
Seriously, I've had it with these gloomy skies and I need a nice, warm, sunny day to re-fuel me. Soon!

A Day Without Roger........
It will be no surprise to some that one of my first posts here will focus on the 'other man in my life', Roger Federer. Of course, my main man, Rick, knows of my obsession with Roger and is very secure in his position as numero uno.
Roger is the best tennis player that ever played the game. I never miss a match. Ever. I may have to Tivo it, but I never miss watching him show his brilliance on the court. The time that he'll dominate the game will be coming to an end in the next few years and I just don't want to miss a single shot. And, it goes without saying that the times that he plays head-to-head against Rafa is a time of complete shut-down in my household and everyone knows that nothing will get accomplished until the match is over.
The only hitch is that there is so much time in between big tournaments, so I have to wait and wait very patiently until the next tournament starts. The worst is the time between the US Open in August and the Australian Open in January. Torture I tell you, pure torture for me. But it's ALWAYS worth the wait.
Rick and I were blessed to have been able to watch Roger in 2005 at the US Open in NYC. He was playing Andre Agassi at night. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. What a thrill that was for me. We were sitting in the 6th row and I didn't even want to get up to go to the ladies' room, for fear that I would miss something brilliant! Both played well, but my Roger prevailed. Definitely, one of life's big moments. As a player, I can so appreciate how easy they make it look. My hope is to see him play in person one more time before he retires. Rick, are you reading this???
The shot above is from an exhibition, before the Indian Wells tournament begins this week. Look at his face--just so cute. He's a good family man and such a gracious sportsman.
Here are a few more shots.....what a cutie.

Mel, how could ya?
Those who know me well know how much I used to love Mel Gibson. Well, he's now lost me because of stories like this:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/03/mel-gibson-expected-to-plead-guilty-to-misdeameanor-count-domestic-violence.html
Now, I still love me some Mel in some of my all-time favorite movies, like Braveheart, Tequila Sunrise, Signs, The Patriot, and of course, all of the Lethal Weapon movies. My heart just doesn't go pitter-patter for him anymore and that makes me sad.

To Blog or Not to Blog? Sure, why not!
Wow. What a dilemma. What to write about in my very first blog post?
Why don't I begin by explaining why I started this blog and why I named it "Color My World"? Well, I seem to be cursed with the affliction of seeing everything in my world in terms of color. To me, either something is the correct color or not. The color of your home, the flowers in your front yard, the color of your car, your front door, your shutters, your room colors....you get the picture. I can't help it. I can't drive down the street and not see all things in terms of color. I can't walk into a home or a store without seeing everything in terms of color. Why? Who knows. I sometimes wish this weren't the case, but it is. Along with color, I also see things in terms of design and style. My mind immediately starts thinking of ways something can look better in terms of color, design and style. When something is right, it gives me such joy. When something is wrong, it gives me a headache. It sometimes takes everything I have to not stop and walk up to someone's house and tell them to change the color of their front door . Horrible, I know, but like I said, I can't help it. I call this affliction "Color Madness".
I love to share my views on home design, garden design, paint and wallpaper ideas and I hope to inspire some folks here to re-think the way they see their own homes and gardens. Beautiful homes don't just happen. You need to work at it and most importantly, think hard before you buy, paint, plant, etc.
Here's an example of something perfect and which brings me joy:
(I designed these pots for a friend and they turned out better than I could imagine. Everything is perfectly balanced in terms of color and texture, and of course plant size and species.)
I have no illusions of becoming a famous blogger nor do I consider myself a great writer or thinker. I just seem to have a lot to say these days and this seemed like a more logical forum than, let's say, my Facebook page, which seems to draw some ire when I post something political or controversial. Some facebookers think that political postings are inappropriate and they don't want to see it. That's fine. I'll keep Facebook just for the fluff and for sharing kids' photos with family.
On here, I can think freely and say what I'm feeling. I may anger some folks out there, and that's ok. I'm just one woman with an opinion.
As the mother of three awesome kids, I've lately become very concerned about the world in which I'm sending them out into. I can't just sit by and do nothing. I intend to do my share of shedding some light on the outrageous and scary happenings in this world we all call home. This could include current events, politics, local news, world events, world leaders, Hollywood......anything goes!!!
So, enjoy the ride with me and let's see where this leads us!
