Holy Doggie Gingivitis

Ok, you all know how I feel about my little Yorkies, Pappy and Posie.  I love these dogs and love spending time with them.  And they love me.  I am their Numero Uno.

BUT, they have had the most horrible breath lately, especially Pappy (on the left).  Serious stench does not make it fun for doggie kisses, folks.

So, off to the vet for some dental care they went.  General anesthesia was given and all of the gunk was scraped off of their little teeth.  Pappy ended up having a cracked tooth removed and has stitches now, poor little guy.

Doggie kisses are fun again!!

Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gums ( gingiva ) around the teeth due to improper cleaning of teeth. The condition is almost always reversible. Brushing teeth with toothpaste and flossing with dental floss are the best ways to prevent gingivitis.
